Galaxy S24 Plus Hands-On: Samsung’s Ultra Might Not Be the One to Buy
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is clearly the greatest phone in the Galaxy S24 series. To substantiate the claim, simply look at the hardware, design, S Pen, and camera system. However, not everyone requires the power that the Ultra provides, just as an RTX 4090 is not required to play Minecraft or drive a Ferrari to the grocery store.
When Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 Ultra at its Unpacked event earlier this month, you might be forgiven for forgetting about the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus. The Ultra (together with the Galaxy Ring) received far more attention than the other two devices. And that’s unfortunate since, after using the S24 and S24 Plus for the past two days, I’m beginning to suspect that the greatest Samsung phone to buy in 2024 may not be the Ultra.
With this in mind, this year’s Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is really appealing. It uses more of the Ultra’s hardware features than in prior years. Furthermore, Galaxy AI is the key selling feature of the series and is consistent throughout all Galaxy S24 phones, making the Plus even more powerful. Oh, and I still haven’t mentioned the Ultra model’s exorbitant price.
I’ve used both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 Plus, and I can assure you that the Plus is the better option. Here’s why I believe the Galaxy S24 Plus is the best Galaxy S24 for most folks!
