Microsoft chief Nadella said he is excited to see new startups in India. India is expected to overtake the US as the largest developer community.
Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Satya Nadella on Thursday said that the environment and pace of development in India is incredible. Nadella was sharing his views on the imperatives of artificial intelligence (AI) transformation in areas like healthcare and education. He also talked about the innovation associated with Copilot AI Assistant.
Announces Expansion of Code Without Barriers Initiative

The Microsoft chief also talked about enhancing productivity in business with ‘Microsoft Copilot’, creating transformational AI solutions with Microsoft Azure, and AI security. He said he is excited to see new, innovative startups in India. India is expected to overtake the US as the largest developer community.

He said India is expected to overtake the US as the largest developer community on GitHub by 2027. Let us tell you, GitHub is a web-based service that facilitates keeping the code of software projects etc.
“Today, India is second only to the US in terms of the total number of developers on GitHub. I believe it will be number one by 2027 or 2028. This will make India the country with the largest number of developers.’
“It is wonderful to see that the people of this country have really embraced this new platform and effectively led the changes associated with the new platform,” Nadella said.
