Ahead of Valentine’s Week, on February 9th, this film will be released on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film has achieved considerable success at the box office, despite multiple releases occurring simultaneously. Particularly, the film has gained immense popularity in Andhra Pradesh, while its earnings in Telangana and overseas have been relatively modest. According to Sacnilk.com, the film garnered approximately ₹124.82 crores in India within 23 days. Its global earnings stand at around ₹177.67 crores.
“Guntur Kaaram” marks the third collaboration between Trivikram, Mahesh Babu, and Shrileela. Prior to this, they delivered exceptional films like “Athadu” and “Khaleja.” Although the initial reception after the release was mixed, the film gradually gained momentum, maintaining its business even during the Sankranti festival.

Guntur Kaaram tells the story of Ramana (Mahesh Babu), a rowdy and businessman from Guntur. His relationship with his mother (Ramya Krishna) is strained, especially as she aspires to become a politician. When his grandfather (Prakash Raj) advises him to sever all ties with his mother, he rebels and sets out to uncover the truth behind leaving her 25 years ago.
The film ‘Guntur Kaaram’ was initially released in theaters with a runtime of 159 minutes. However, there are discussions about the possibility of increasing the length of the film for its OTT release. The theatrical version of the film has already excluded the song ‘Amma’ along with removing some background-related action scenes. Now, there are reports that all these elements might be reintroduced in the OTT version of ‘Guntur Kaaram,’ potentially resulting in an extended runtime.

The song ‘Amma’ was removed from the theatrical version, and the makers recently released it on YouTube. This decision faced criticism from the audience as the song was considered crucial for the overall storyline. Along with this, the makers have also decided to add some action scenes related to the song in the OTT version, indicating an effort to present a more comprehensive version of ‘Guntur Kaaram’ for the digital audience.
